Title:  ‘Lion’ Headstone

Location:  Forest-in-Teesdale Churchyard, Co Durham

Materials: Dunhouse Blue Sandstone 

Description: The family crest of a Lion Rampant  towers over but does not harm a mouse which looks up from below. The Latin inscription translates as “ Sweet Mercy is Nobility’s True Badge”.
