Title:  ‘Coke Ovens Seat’

Location:  Inkerman Heritage Site, Tow Law, 1999

Materials:  Recycled crossing timbers (Jarrah)

Description:  A design derived from the circles of tapered bricks which surround the charging holes of several ‘beehive’ coke ovens on this old Victorian industrial site. The recycling of these heavy timbers with their markings and holes from earlier usage seemed particularly appropriate.
