Title:
			‘Green Man Life Cycle’

			Location:
			Hamsterley Forest, Co
			Durham

			Materials:
Six trunks of Grand Fir (5m
			long by 0.6m diameter)

			Description:

In a triangular forest clearing six tree trunks were set in
triangular formation and equidistantly spaced. From three viewpoints
set at a measured distance from the corners, the logs combine to
present a solid image. As one moves round the sculpture the image
becomes disjointed only to reassemble into a second, then a third
image – the faces of the Green Man, spirit of the woodland, in his
			youth, mid-life, and old age.
