Title:  ‘Taking the Bait’

Location:   Wydon Water, Hexham, Nothumberland, 2008

Materials:  Buff Sandstone

Description:   Commissioned by the Environment Agency for the entrance to a new fishery, developed from what had been the town’s reservoir and serving as part of Hexham’s flood defence scheme. The main face of the carving, seen on entering the car park, shows a pair of Roach interested in a worm. The end face, seen only when in or leaving the car park, reveals that the worm is an angler’s bait.
